Safety Razor AL13 Medium Aircraft Aluminum

The AL13 Medium is a lightweight aluminium safety razor with a 96 mm handle. Its head holds the blade firmly at a fixed angle, while the 37 g weight makes it easy to manoeuvre. The Medium head delivers a close, assertive shave and is best suited to users who are already comfortable shaving with a safety razor.

Choose this if: you want a lightweight, precisely engineered razor that holds the blade firmly in place and delivers an assertive shave.

Not suitable if: you prefer a heavy razor or are looking for either a very mild or a highly aggressive shave.

How to Use

Blade replacement: the razor has three parts: the handle, top cap and baseplate. Unscrew the handle anticlockwise and separate the cap from the baseplate. Hold the blade only by its short, blunt edges and align its slots with the locating tabs on the cap. Refit the baseplate with the shiny bushing facing the handle. Screw the handle back on clockwise until finger-tight, without overtightening. Fully tighten the handle before shaving.

Shaving: apply shaving cream and leave it on for a minute or two to soften the hair. Keep the head’s flat shaving surface against your skin, adjusting the handle angle slightly if needed. Apply only enough pressure to maintain contact. Begin in the direction of hair growth and rinse the head during shaving.

Cleaning

Rinse thoroughly after each shave. For drying, loosen the handle approximately 1½ turns, until the blade is no longer bent. Store the razor on its side in a dry place, away from the shower. Retighten the handle before the next shave.

When replacing the blade, wash the disassembled razor by hand with water, soap and a soft-bristled toothbrush. Dry it before inserting a new blade. Do not use harsh cleaning chemicals or a dishwasher, and do not knock the razor against the sink or bath.
