Safety Razor 34C

The 34C pairs a short handle with the substantial feel behind its familiar HD — Heavy Duty — nickname. This classic safety razor suits a deliberate wet-shaving routine: keep a light touch and let the razor’s own weight guide each stroke.

Its two-piece construction keeps blade changes straightforward. Turn the knob at the base to release the top cap; the handle and lower head section remain together. The generous blade gap helps lather and cut hairs rinse away between passes.

Choose this if: you prefer a short handle for manoeuvrability and a razor with a substantial feel in the hand. The two-piece design also makes blade changes straightforward.

How to Use

Blade replacement: with dry hands and a dry razor, turn the base knob anticlockwise and remove the top cap. Hold the blade by its blunt edges. Place the new blade on the cap’s locating pins, refit the cap and tighten the knob clockwise until secure, without overtightening.

Shaving: moisten skin and beard hair with warm water, apply shaving lather and allow it a few minutes to soften the hair. Hold the razor at approximately 30° to the skin. Use short, straight strokes without added pressure, following the direction of hair growth on the first pass. Do not slide the razor sideways. Rinse the head during shaving. Reapply lather before another pass.

Cleaning

After shaving, loosen the base knob by half a turn, rinse the head thoroughly and tighten it again. Remove soap residue with a soft brush; occasional cleaning with a little shampoo or washing-up liquid helps remove deposits. Let the razor dry thoroughly before storing it or putting it in a case.
